$3,000 to win Mach 1 Shootout at Selinsgrove opens ESS season

With the opening weekend at Can-Am and Mohawk being weathered out, the 32nd Anniversary Tour for the Lucas Oil Empire Super Sprints (ESS) kicks off this Saturday at the famed Selinsgrove Speedway. It’s billed as the Mach 1 Shootout and pays a hefty $3,000 to win with $400 just to take the green.

BOSS season opener set for Wayne County

Following a disappointing rainout at Fremont Speedway this past Saturday, the Mo Vaughn Transport / Buckeye Outlaw Sprint Series is now set to open the 2015 season at Jason and Kristin Flory’s Wayne County Speedway near Orrville, Ohio. Twenty-eight wingless warriors were signed in for battle on Saturday despite the fact there were many other tracks running in the Ohio / Indiana area. Series and track officials expect another fine field to be on hand with drivers from six states indicating their intentions to compete.

FAST resumes with two rounds on May 15th/16th

The 2015 Fremont/Attica Sprint Title Championship Series season will resume with F.A.S.T. ‘410’ and ‘305’ competition this Friday and Saturday, May 15th & 16th at Attica Raceway Park and Fremont Speedway. Each of the F.A.S.T. banners will be represented on both nights during the upcoming weekend; completing rounds five and six of the F.A.S.T. ‘410’ Championship Series, and rounds three and four of the F.A.S.T. ‘305’ Championship Series.

McCarl on the Mend

Terry McCarl is on the mend after a nasty crash last Saturday night at the Knoxville Raceway. The Altoona, Iowa driver was in a prone position when he was hit by another car. A fractured vertebrae was the diagnosis, but TMAC fells blessed that it wasn’t worse and he’s feeling better than expected and hopes to be racing again soon.

Tomson Scrap Metal Purchases Lernerville Speedway

Lernerville Speedway has been sold to Tomson Scrap Metal of Brackenridge, Pa., effective immediately. WRG will continue to operate the speedway under the DIRTcar Racing banner as scheduled for 2015 with the new ownership.
