Henry Uses Lake Race Heroics to Win at Fremont

Late in the 2022 season Cap Henry lost his sprint car ride. The Republic, Ohio driver didn’t know what the future might hold, but a conversation with Jeff Ward of Sandusky, who put together a team a couple of years ago, gave him new life in racing. The new pairing paid off Saturday, May 6 as Henry opened Fremont Speedway’s 72nd year on Johnny Auxter Opening Night presented by Iron Workers Local 55, Gressman Powersports and Level Performance with the 410 sprint feature win.

Reutzel Doubles Up at Knoxville

Aaron Reutzel became the fifth different driver in Knoxville Raceway history to sweep both a 410 and 360 feature event in one evening, joining Terry McCarl (4 times), Brian Brown (3), Justin Henderson (3) and Dennis Moore Jr. in the feat. The Clute, Texas native now living in Knoxville dominated the night’s action on both ends, earning $5,000 for his 410 victory and $2,000 for his 360 win aboard the Ridge & Sons Racing #8 in the Kraig Ford/Pella Motors Season Opener. Matthew Stelzer moved atop the all-time win list in the Pro Sprints series, earning the sixteenth victory of his career here.

Jamie Miller Wins 305 Feature at Attica

Fremont, Ohio’s Jamie Miller, a former Attica track champion, had his work cut out for him in the 25 lap Fremont Fence 305 Sprint feature. With just two laps remaining, Kasey Jedrzejek was racing inside of Miller challenging for the lead when he hit one of the infield tires, ending his fantastic run. Miller cruised the final two laps for his 36th career division win at Attica. Dustin Stroup, Brandon Moore, Seth Schneider and Jimmy McGrath rounded out the top five.
