An off weekend from the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series championship chase allowed Day to return to his roots this week. The Clovis, CA native hooked up with the Jason Meyers Racing No. 14 team for a trio of World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series races in the “Golden State.”

On Saturday night, all these years later, the 20-year-old Zanesville, Indiana native grabbed his first career USAC NOS Energy Drink Midget National Championship feature victory just a stone’s throw away from the legendary Rossburg, Ohio 1/2-mile dirt oval.
Back in May of this year, Kyle Cummins checked off his first career Eldora Speedway victory in what was his 17th attempt at taming the legendary 1/2-mile Rossburg, Ohio dirt oval. On Saturday night, the Princeton, Indiana racer checked off yet another new feat as he claimed his first career 4-Crown Nationals Presented by NKTELCO triumph, this one worth a cool $15,000.
Thursdays at Eldora Speedway belong to Briggs Danner. One year after capturing Thursday night’s 4-Crown Nationals Presented by NKTELCO opener at the Rossburg, Ohio 1/2-mile dirt oval, Danner did the deed again, leading all 30 laps en route to victory at the helm of his Hogue Racing Enterprises/E. Schneider & Sons – Keystone Cap/DRC/Rider Chevy.
You almost had to do a double take when you took a glance at the all-time feature win list at Eldora Speedway. Kevin Thomas Jr. was nowhere to be found.
Yet, as hard as it was to believe, KTJ had never won a feature event in his career at the famed 1/2-mile dirt oval located in Rossburg, Ohio.
The best of all dirt open wheel racing worlds converge at one legendary venue on one major weekend! Rossburg, Ohio’s Eldora Speedway is set for the 44th running of the 4-Crown Nationals Presented By NKTELCO on Thursday-Friday-Saturday night, September 24-25-26.
