The World of Outlaws STP Sprint Car drivers competing in tonight’s DIRTcar Nationals presented by Summit Racing were quicker and faster than last night and continued to chip away at the existing 12.563-second track record set in 2011 that makes Volusia Speedway Park the world’s fastest half-mile dirt oval.

With rain threatening the ‘Greatest Show on Dirt’ at Deer Creek Speedway, World of Outlaws officials fast-tracked the program, making an earnest attempt to complete the Clash at the Creek before the skies opened up.

If you are superstitious then Friday the 13th is an unlucky day. But for one driver of the 29 entered in the World of Outlaws event tonight at Clay County Fair Speedway, it would be a lucky day!

Joey Saldana hoped to keep his Boot Hill Showdown hot streak alive. A five-time and all-time leading A-Main winner at Dodge City Raceway Park, Saldana and the Motter Equipment Fatheadz Eyewear team were ready to face off against the other World of Outlaws competitors who had come to town for the Showdown in the dirt.
