For Raisin City, California’s Mitchel Moles, Red Hill Raceway officially became a home away from home this weekend. After winning Friday night’s feature at the Sumner, Illinois 3/8-mile dirt oval, Moles backed it up on Saturday night to win the inaugural Illinois Sprint Car Championship, co-sanctioned by both the USAC AMSOIL Sprint Car National Championship and the Midwest Thunder 410 Sprint Car Series.
In sickness and in health, Mitchel Moles has had quite the USAC AMSOIL Sprint Car National Championship season thus far in 2026. During Friday night’s Illinois Sprint Car Championship weekend opener at Red Hill Raceway in Sumner, Illinois, Moles set a new career high in USAC National Sprint Car wins for a season with his third triumph of the year after fending off an attack from Jadon Rogers down the stretch to the checkered.
Red Hill Raceway, it’s good to be back! This time, USAC heads back to Red Hill for a brand new event on the calendar – the Illinois Sprint Car Championship – for two-straight nights of action this weekend on June 5-6, with Friday’s feature paying $6,000-to-win and Saturday’s winner bringing home $10,000.
Knoxville Raceway is a special place on its own. But to race in the shadow of the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame on induction weekend is incomparable. The Sprint Car Capital of the World welcomes the USAC AMSOIL Sprint Car National Championship to Iowa’s Knoxville Raceway for back-to-back nights of full programs on May 29-30.
For Briggs Danner, Circle City Raceway just seemed to be one of those places that he couldn’t connect with over the years in USAC AMSOIL Sprint Car National Championship competition.
Yet, during Thursday night’s Circle City Salute Presented by Desnuda Tequila, Danner found the Indianapolis, Indiana 1/4-mile dirt oval to his liking, much thanks to a monster curb that bit others, but was one that Danner’s car found bite on.
The Terre Haute Action Track is where it all began for Mitchel Moles and Reinbold-Underwood Motorsports. Exactly four years ago to the day, May 20, 2022, Moles made an impressive USAC AMSOIL Sprint Car National Championship debut, leading 19 of the 30 laps before losing the lead late and finishing second. Since then, the Raisin City, California racer had always felt that it had been one that he let slip away.
There’s nothing finer than Indy in the month of May. But while the NTT INDYCAR Series competitors prepare for 500 miles on the other side of the city at IMS, a different breed of open wheel racing will be slinging dirt at Indianapolis, Indiana’s Circle City Raceway, located on the southeast side of Indy.
For more than a half century, the Tony Hulman Classic has been an event that every USAC AMSOIL National Sprint Car driver desires to win. The 56th annual chapter of the longest running USAC National Sprint Car event, dating back to 1971, returns to western Indiana’s Terre Haute Action Track on Wednesday night, May 20.
Throughout Brady Bacon’s remarkable USAC AMSOIL National Sprint Car career, he’s posted some staggering statistical facts and figures. On Saturday night at Rossburg, Ohio’s Eldora Speedway, the Broken Arrow, Oklahoma native put another one on the board of substantial significance.
