The California scene can be tricky for national travelers due to their nature of being small and tight bullrings.

After a busy week in Knoxville, IA, Cody Darrah and the World of Outlaws had three nights of action scheduled, and Darrah had a strong runs in McCool Junction, NE and Grand Forks, ND, but the Sunday night show in Minot, SD ended violently.

The Knoxville Nationals haven’t been very friendly to Cody Darrah over the past few years, but the 2012 edition saw Darrah overcome adversity and put his SurePoint Medical/Sage Fruit/Team ASE machine into the 50-lap feature event.

With a new sponsor, and a new paint scheme, Cody Darrah took advantage of a Sunday night race at the Knoxville Raceway and scored a fourth place finish during his final tune-up at the raceway until the Nationals.

Saturday night is his native Pennsylvania, Cody Darrah picked up the Summer Nationals win at the Williams Grove Speedway marking his first win of 2012.

Cody Darrah continues to heat up with the Summer months as the Kasey Kahne Racing driver picked up a 10th place finish at Bellville on Friday before scoring a third place finish at Lakeside Speedway on Saturday night.

Spending the weekend racing in historic Dodge City, KS in the Boot Hill Showdown, Cody Darrah followed a 14th place effort on Friday up with a strong fifth place finish Saturday night.

Over the weekend, Cody Darrah and his Kasey Kahne Racing team were in the state of North Dakota for a pair of races with the World of Outlaws, and Darrah didn’t have the kind of success he was hoping for.

Cody Darrah rose to the occasion with a national audience tuned in Friday night as he overcame a heat race altercation and charged to a fifth place finish Friday night with the World of Outlaws.
