REIGLE POSTHUMOUSLY NAMED 2011 RECIPIENT OF OUTSTANDING CONTRIBUTION TO THE SPORT AWARD
Posted on January 15, 2012 | No CommentsVeteran Harrisburg Patriot-News and Area Auto Racing News columnist Jerry Reigle, who passed away in late August following a brave fight against cancer, has been posthumously named the recipient of the 2011 “Outstanding Contribution to the Sport Award” by all three voting panels of the North American Sprint Car Poll. -
JASON MEYERS NAMED NORTH AMERICAN 410 SPRINT CAR POLL “DRIVER OF THE YEAR” FOR 2011… AGAIN
Posted on January 14, 2012 | No CommentsFor the second straight year, Jason Meyers of Clovis, California, was voted the “Driver of the Year” by the North American 410 Sprint Car Poll voting panel of media members, promoters, sanctioning officials and manufacturers. The 2011 World of Outlaws (WoO) Sprint Car Series point champion earned twenty-six (26) of the twenty-nine (29) first-place ballots cast in the year-end poll. For the first time, team owners Chris Luck, Jason Meyers and Guy Stockbridge earned 410-cubic-inch sprint car “Team of the Year” honors. -
SHANE STEWART NAMED NORTH AMERICAN 360 SPRINT CAR POLL “DRIVER OF THE YEAR” FOR 2011
Posted on January 14, 2012 | No CommentsShane Stewart of Bixby, Oklahoma, was voted the 2011 “Driver of the Year” by the North American 360 Sprint Car Poll voting panel of media members, promoters, sanctioning officials and manufacturers for the second time. Stewart, the American Sprint Car Series (ASCS) national tour champion and 2009 “Driver of the Year”, earned thirteen (13) of the twenty (20) first-place ballots cast in the year-end poll. Stewart’s car owner, Paul Silva, earned his second “Team of the Year” award as well. -
LEVI JONES NAMED NORTH AMERICAN NON-WINGED SPRINT CAR POLL “DRIVER OF THE YEAR” FOR 2011
Posted on January 12, 2012 | No CommentsLevi Jones of Olney, Illinois, today was named the 2011 “Driver of the Year” by the North American Non-Winged Sprint Car Poll voting panel of media members, promoters, sanctioning officials and manufacturers for the third time. The United States Auto Club (USAC) champion and 2005 and ‘09 “Driver of the Year” earned eleven (11) of the seventeen (17) first-place ballots cast in the year-end poll. -
