Schatz Named North American 410 Poll Driver of the Year

For the ninth time in his career, Donny Schatz of Fargo, North Dakota, was voted the “Driver of the Year” by the North American 410 Sprint Car Poll voting panel of media members, promoters, sanctioning officials and manufacturers. The 2016 World of Outlaws (WoO) champion earned seventeen (17) of the twenty (20) first-place ballots cast in the year-end poll. Brady Bacon of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, today was named the 2016 “Driver of the Year” by the North American Non-Winged Sprint Car Poll voting panel of media members, promoters, sanctioning officials and manufacturers for the first time. The United States Auto Club (USAC) point champion earned three (3) first-place ballots cast in the year-end poll. World Finals Auction to Take Place on Saturday, October 29 at Noon

Once again, the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame & Museum in Knoxville, Iowa, will be teaming up with the National Dirt Late Model Hall of Fame in Florence, Kentucky, and the DIRT Motorsports Hall of Fame in Weedsport, New York, to host a fundraising auction for all three museums during the World Finals in Charlotte, North Carolina. With his eighth place finish in the Kustom Concrete Pumping (Ralph) Capitani Classic on Sunday at Knoxville Raceway, Badlands Motor Speedway regular Dusty Zomer of South Dakota has taken the lead in the 2016 Cox Design & Metal Fabrication Southern Iowa Sprint Week point standings. Shane Stewart won the Capitani Classic for the second year in a row.
