Sharon Speedway will try for the third time to kick-off the 2026 racing season this Saturday night (May 9) in a “Super Series” event presented by Bala Management. The 97th anniversary season opener will include a pair of headlining divisions in the Hovis Auto & Truck Supply “410” Sprint Cars and Big-Block Modifieds along with the Alcon Mechanical Econo Mods and the Gibson Insurance Agency Crown Vics.

Kofoid Holds Off Macedo for Second Straight Gettysburg Clash Victory

Michael “Buddy” Kofoid charged from outside the second row and snatched the top spot from polesitter David Gravel with a Lap 19 slide job. Gravel returned the favor, but a fortuitous yellow flag for Kofoid flew as the lap hadn’t been completed after Gravel got back around him. That handed the lead to Kofoid for the restart, and he capitalized.

MUST SEE AND SOUTHERN SPRINTS JOIN FORCES FOR SOUTHERN SWING

The Must See Racing Sprint Series Presented by Perfit-Parts.Com is set to kick off its 2026 season this coming weekend when it invades Anderson Motor Speedway in Willamston, South Carolina Friday night May 8. The series will then head to Cordele, Georgia the following evening May 9 to conclude the weekend. An open practice at Anderson Motor Speedway is also on tap Thursday evening.

After contact knocked Tommy “Thunder” Malcolm out of contention with 21 laps completed, Ricky Lewis of Camarillo, California scored his fourth Avanti Windows & Doors USAC/CRA Sprint Car win of the season.
