At this point last season, Bruce Jr. had a new engine and chassis combination, which took the One 8 Motorsports team longer than they expected to adapt. Once it clicked, Bruce Jr. was a contender on the Lucas Oil ASCS National Tour.
“This past offseason we got a chance to sit down with SpeedMart owner Barry Martinez and talk about partnership opportunities for the 2014 season,” Cole Wood said.
After an impressive four-night stretch that included three Quick Time awards, three top-5’s and four Top-10’s, the Nashville, Tenn. resident was crowned the overall DIRTcar Nationals Champion at Volusia Speedway Park to kick off the 2014 season.
Scelzi, who has formed an alliance with Roth Motorsports, will be a full-time chaser of the King of the West Sprint Car Series championship for the first time.
