Carson Macedo brought out the broom and spanked everyone with it in Minnesota this weekend. It began with topping Friday’s World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series visit to Ogilvie Raceway. Then the scene shifted to another Minnesota track, Jackson Motorplex, on Saturday for the World of Outlaws presented by Fendt.
Carson Macedo is inevitable in the state of Minnesota. Maybe it’s the lakes. Maybe it’s the Twin Cities. Maybe it’s the mild summers. Whatever it is, Macedo can’t be stopped in the “Gopher State.”
Starting a night of racing with a fire is about the worst possible scenario for any team. That’s exactly the situation Carson Macedo and Jason Johnson Racing faced on Friday at I-55 Federated Auto Parts Raceway Park. A fuel issue during engine heat ignited flames on the No. 41, forcing Macedo to quickly climb out and making a lot of extra work for the team to be ready for the remainder of the night.
Every now and then a driver winning at a specific track becomes nearly a foregone conclusion, and Carson Macedo is making a case at Jackson Motorplex. The Lemoore, CA native entered Wednesday’s Fendt Showdown locked in a four-way tie for the most World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series victories at the Minnesota oval. Despite having less starts than Donny Schatz, Logan Schuchart, and Brad Sweet, he’d managed to pile up four checkered flags to equal them.
I-55 Federated Auto Parts Raceway Park just doesn’t miss. Friday’s Federated Auto Parts Spring Classic opener at the Pevely, MO oval served up the latest piece of evidence. Fans were treated to a 40-lap thrill ride as the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Cars put on a show.
