HEAVY RAINS WASH OUT WAYNE COUNTY SPEEDWAY’S SCHEDULED OPENER

Heavy rain and storms that started on Wednesday and continued on and off through Friday night and Saturday morning that totaled between 5 to 8 inches of rain in the Wayne County area, drenched the grounds of Orrville’s Historic Oval, plus more storms predicted for Saturday afternoon, forced track owner Jason Flory to cancel the scheduled 2026 season opener.

WAYNE COUNTY SPEEDWAY SCHEDULE SET FOR 61st SEASON

Wayne County Speedway’s opening night is set for Saturday night, April 4th with a season long schedule of activity through October. Opening night will have the Pine Tree Towing & Recovery 410 Sprints, the Malcuit Tavern Super Late Models, the Flynn’s Tire and Auto Modifieds, the Canton Glass House Super Stocks and the JoyRide Transport Sport Compacts as those classes will be racing for the O’Reilly’s Auto Parts ‘Race to the Championship’ points during the season.

JEDRZEJEK JOINS PETE JACOBS MEMORIAL & ASCOC WINNERS LIST

Starting tenth, Kasey Jedrzejek worked his way through the field and took the lead on lap 15 and then kept Brandon Spithaler at bay for the rest of the feature to win the 11th annual Pete Jacobs Memorial at Wayne County Speedway Sunday evening and collect his first NAPA Auto Parts All Star Circuit of Champions win.
